Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great Thanksgiving. Miles had to go to work for a couple of hours early in the morning, and Miley and I watched the parade. I think she really enjoyed seeing the big balloons on t.v. In the afternoon we went to Farmington and ate Thanksgiving dinner at Jessie's house. It was real yummy. We stayed two nights at Super 8 in Bloomfield, thanks to Jessie and Grant. They are awesome. It is so fun to go and see them and Miley loves playing with Crew.
We all got up really early on Black Friday. Miles made it out for the 4 am opening at Sears, than he headed over to Target at 5 am. My mom and I made it to the 5 am opening of the sale at Wal-Mart. Miley stayed at the motel asleep while my dad came into our room and watched her. It was so crazy at Wal-Mart. Every year I think it gets busier and busier. It took me forever to get to the toys. Toys are located at the back of the store, and I ended up just standing there waiting to move because there was too many people and I couldn't get my cart around anyone or anything. I almost ditched the cart, but I'm glad I didn't because there is no way I would have been able to carry everything. It ended up being a long day since I didn't have a nap, but it was fun. We got most of our Christmas shopping done.

I love to eat at Red Lobster!

Which one is Miley?

School Picture

We took Miley to the school a while back to get her picture taken. I'm glad that they let anyone get there picture taken even if they aren't in school yet.
Miley ended up holding a rattle that they had there. When she first sat down on the chair, she was shy and she wouldn't take her hands out of her mouth. But when they gave her that rattle to hold she was happy. I was afraid it would be more obvious than it is.

Hogle Zoo

On October 23 my mom, my dad, my aunt Kathy, Miley and I went to the Hogle Zoo! It has been so long since I've been to the zoo and Miley loves animals so I was so excited to go. We had a lot of fun looking at all the animals and riding the carousel. The weather was perfect and there wasn't very many people there so I didn't even get people rage. It was very nice. I tried to take pictures but my camera was being dumb so I made sure my parents both took pictures and I got copies. Before I bought Miley a souvenir I wanted to see what animal Miley liked best. Her favorite was the penguins. She was excited to see the penguins she even did her happy feet dance in her stroller. So of course I got her a penguin stuffed animal. She didn't really like the orangutans, but she didn't mind the gorilla. That's what scared me. It was huge! I asked my mom if it was real. It's not the first time I've ever seen a gorilla, but it was really close to the glass and I wasn't sure. It was kind of scary. My favorite animal at the zoo was the baby elephant. It was so cute! At first when we arrived to the elephants there was only one huge elephant and I knew there was supposed to be a baby, so I asked my mom where the baby was and she told me that the huge elephant we were looking at was probably the baby. I didn't know so I was kind of disappointed because he wasn't as cute as babies should be. Again....he was huge! Than we started to walk away and out of some huge garage like door comes other huge elephant and a cute little elephant. I was so excited that the baby elephant was small and so cute! We also went on the train ride, which we all really enjoyed. Also, Miley made a friend. While we were looking at the animals in a bulding her and another little girl around her age kept running around playing with each other. It was really cute. It was a fun day at the zoo!

Happy Halloween

For Halloween this year, Miley was a bumble bee. We carved a pumpkin real fast before breakfast since the last pumpkin we carved a couple weeks ago was too old and it didn't' even look like a pumpkin anymore. Than we got ready for the Halloween carnival. When we first got there Miley noticed every one's balloons and she really wanted one. We got her two balloons but she still wanted more. She also had a lot of fun at the ball toss. Her favorite thing these days are balls. She has also learned how to say 'ball'. We got Miley's picture take at Sandra Dawn's Photography in the afternoon. Earlier in the week we got her pictures taken at Kiddy Kandids, so she had two Halloween costume pictures this year. After we got Miley's picture taken my mom and I made sugar cookies. Miles had a football game to go to so he was gone for a good part of the afternoon. The San Juan Broncos did win there game. :) For dinner we had taco soup. It is our tradition to have taco soup on Halloween night. After dinner Miles and I took Miley out trick or treating while my mom stayed at our house and handed out candy. I think Miley had a lot of fun. We just took Miley to family and some friend's houses. Miley did end up getting a good amount of candy. The day went by really fast and it was a lot of fun.

Happy Friday!

I love lazy Friday afternoons. I get off work early and I'm able to spend the rest of the weekend with Miley and Miles (when he is not away at football). I love it. Last week my dad took some pictures of Miley. I think they turned out really good.

Party Animal

Miley is a party animal. She loves parties. On the September 19 we went to Keilan's 1st birthday and on September 26 we went to Crew's 1st birthday party. We all had so much fun. Miley enjoyed running around and she loves being outside. Miley also had so much fun playing with the other kids. At Crew's party, Miley had so much fun playing in the bounce house. I was thinking about having a bounce house for Miley's second birthday and after seeing how much fun she had in it, it makes me want to get one even more. Miley also had so much fun playing in the rock fountain. It is a good thing we brought extra pair of clothes because she got all wet. After a party, Miley sleeps in the next day till about 9:30 am. I love sleeping in. I love that she had so much fun that she had to catch up on her sleep and let mommy and daddy catch up on sleep also.

I'm a book worm!

Lately I've been really into reading. I just finished Marley and Me by John Grogan and My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult . Both very good books. They are both made into a major motion picture. I do own the Marley and Me DVD, but after reading both books and both being sad, I don't know if I want to watch the movies and be sad again. I am glad I read them. I enjoyed them a lot and it was hard to put them down.

Now it is October and Halloween is around the corner so I'm going to be reading scary books. I'm so excited. I hope I get scared. Lately it doesn't take much to scare me. I'll be watching Ghost Hunters before bed and when it is over, I'll be too scared to go to bed by myself. When I was younger I can't remember of a scary movie that actually scared me so now it is kind of fun being easily scared.

Miley is 15 months old

Miley is 15 months old today. She is getting so big. In honor of her 15th month old birthday I will post a picture of my miss independent little child. My sister in law Sharla took this picture. I love this picture! It shows she wants to be a big girl and feed herself. Too bad it has to be such a messy process. We love you Miley!

A little about what Miley has been up to these days.

She doesn't walk....she runs. She is always running.

She goes to football practice with her dad everyday till I pick her up. She loves it! I think she is a little too young to be watching the football players but what can I say, she has so much fun.

She loved watching Big Brother on TV with us. I think she enjoyed watching it more than she enjoys Hannah Montana.

Miley is so smart, she amazes me everyday. She is obsessed with the TV remote, phones, cell phones, anything that is electronic. We gave her one of our old TV remotes that doesn't have batteries in it. She doesn't want to play with that, she wants the one that actually makes the TV do something when she pushes the buttons.

We love her so much!!!

Gathering Wood

Last Saturday we went up to the mountain to help gather wood with Miles side of the family. A couple of his sisters and his brother came down for the weekend. It was fun to see everyone and be together and enjoy each others company. Miley and I weren't much help. We pretty much just stood around and watched. Miley had so much fun. She loves to be outside. She had a really runny noise that day and I was scared she wouldn't feel up to going out but she didn't let a runny nose stop her from having fun. After they got the trucks full of wood we ate. Yum! We had fried chicken, salad, bread, chips and rice crispy treats. Miley also went on her first four wheeler ride. It was a good day.

Tasty Tuesday - Sweet Pork Salad

A couple of Sundays ago we made Sweet Pork Salad, a copy cat recipe for Cafe Rio or Costa Vida pork salad I found on the Internet. It turned out so good. We couldn't decide if we liked it better. It really did taste just like the ones you get at the restaurant.

No more monkeys jumping on the bed.

We finally got Miley out of our bed. I didn't really mind her sleeping with us. She was real wiggly but our bed is big enough it wasn't too bad. We had to move her because we didn't like the fact that all of a sudden she started falling off the bed. She fell off the bed once while she was sleeping and a number of other times while she was playing on the bed. It was really scary. One time she went head first.
We didn't move her far. We didn't even move her back to her crib. (She hates her crib) Why did we even buy one? She moved to the floor by our bed. She sleeps on her crib mattress.
I wasn't sure if she was going to like that. I was afraid we would have to take the frame off our bed and just have our mattress on the floor, but Miley has been doing really good on her "new" bed. Sometimes I wake up and find half her body on the floor and the other half on her mattress. This morning, she was all the way off her mattress and just sleeping on the floor. I thought that was sad so I had Miles move her back on the mattress before he went to work. She even knows that is her new bed (for now anyways). The other day she had her blanket in the living room, I told her to take her blanket back to her bed and she went right to her mattress and dropped it off. I want to get her a Disney Princess toddler bed, but I'll probably have to wait a while, at least until she can stay on the mattress.

I'm bring home a baby bumble bee.....

OUCH it stung me! Miley was stung by a bee the other day. How sad it that? I haven't even ever been stung by a bee. (Knock on wood) At least we know she isn't allergic. That would be really bad.

Pioneer Day 2009

Miles, Miley and I went to Monticello Friday night to stay at my parents house for the weekend. Friday night we went to the ball park to eat. The scouts were doing a fund raiser dinner. We had BBQ beef sandwiches, baked beans, chips and a drink. After eating we took Miley to the play ground to play and swing. She was having so much fun. While we were there some kids with a little puppy came by. Miley loved that. The puppy would jump on her but she didn't mind. She was having so much fun. She loved petting the puppy and chasing it. Saturday we went to the parade. Miley loves parades. She has so much fun watching everything and collecting candy. After picking up candy at the 4th of July parade and Pioneer Day parade, she is now a pro. She would actually chase the candy down and hold as many as her little hands could hold before she would unload her candy with us. After the parade we went to the park to eat. I had Mexican food. It was really yummy. At the food booths Miley was really tired but she didn't want to lean back because she didn't want to miss out on anything so she ended up falling asleep leaned forward on the tray on the stroller. It was so cute. At the food booths they had hermit crabs and baby frogs for sale. I wanted to get Miley one....but she is too little. I'll just have to get her something like that when she gets older. We ate dinner at my parents house. It was so good. We had chicken and onion kobos, ribs, sage beans, crab salad, potato salad and strawberry short cake. We all ate till we couldn't eat no more. After dinner we went back to the ball parks to get ready to watch the fire works. Miley had so much fun running all over the place. She will not stay put. We all took turns following her all over. She ran over to a blanket with a bunch of little girls and they shared there crackers with her. It was so cute. She is not afraid of anyone or anything when she is out running free. She even tried to steal someones water bottle. She loved the fireworks. She would make noises and point at them. Towards the end she was getting mad because she didn't want to sit down anymore, she wanted to run around. We all had such a great time. Saturday night my parents were so kind to sleep in the guest room and let us sleep in there room. Miley is so wiggly that its hard to sleep on anything but a king size bed. Thank you Mom and Dad. We all had a great time!

Fun at the Pool!

Last night my mom, my dad a I took Miley swimming. She loved it! I think she thought we all got in a giant bathtub with her. It was so much fun. We love swimming!
