Hooded Towel Craft

Today my mom and I made a hooded bath towel for Miley. She out grew the ones we bought her at the store. We were having a hard time figuring out the instructions on the Internet, but once we started doing it; it was really easy. We are planning on making more....and more fancy ones now that we know what we are doing.

Happy Earth Day!

I came up with a list of ideas I could use to go green and save green.

I could use Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs and I probably should.
I could unplug appliances when I'm not using them. I do unplug my toaster....does that count?
I could wash clothes in cold water whenever possible. I usually just wash my darks in cold, but I could try it all.
I could take shorter showers to reduce water use. But I don't know how much shorter I can make them. I have to take very quick showers anyway, because one - I sleep in and two - Miley waits for me in her travel crib in the bathroom almost every morning.
I could install a low-flow shower head. I actually tried that and I hated it so I probably won't be doing that again.
I could ride my bike to work. I really should start doing that. Before I was pregnant with Miley, I rode my bike to work everyday. It was great. Now I am lazy.
I can make my own cleaning supplies. I actually wouldn't even know where to begin, but maybe someday.

There is so many tips and ideas online about going green. I bet I could find a couple I wouldn't mind doing and there's also a lot I'm already doing and didn't even know it. How about that.

Happy Spring

Today we took Miley to the park to swing. She loved it! She just giggled the whole time. The weather was perfect. I also tried out the swings. It has been a long time since I have swung, but it was a lot of fun.

10 Months Old!

Miley is 10 months old. I've come up with a list of 10 things Miley enjoys.

1. Miley loves bathtime. She loves to splash and suck on the wash cloth. She also enjoys having her teeth brushed with her baby tooth brush.

2. Miley loves to go outside. When the weather is nice she loves to visit Coco and Koda in the back yard and go on walks in her stoller.

3. Miley loves animals. She loves stuffed animals and real life animals. The other day she got to pet our neighbors horse. I thought she might be scared of this huge animal or at least be scared if of the owner of the horse, but she wasn't.

4. Miley loves Little Einsteins theme song and Ooh and Aah from Playhouse Disney.

5. Miley loves her Dolly Miss Molly, her Simba, and her blue Care Bear.

6. Miley loves bananas. She gets so messy when she eats her banana, but she sure does enjoy them.

7. Miley does not like to sleep in her crib. She loves to sleep in the big bed with us! She also loves to sleep on her stomach.

8. Miley loves to ride in her little red car. We will push her all over the house and tell her to push her music button and push the blinker and she will. She doesn't like when we stop unless it is in front of the full lenght mirror. She enjoys looking at herself.

9. Miley loves the beat of music. She will be sitting there and when she plays with her music toys or hears music from the tv she will get really happy and bounce to the beat.

10. Miley loves other babies and little kids. She will cry if a grown up that she doesn't know looks at her or talks to her, but if it is a baby or kid she gets so happy. She loves her cousin Crew! Also, a couple weeks ago Ivy brought her kids and her niece over and she had so much fun playing with them.

The Easter bunny found Miley!

Happy Easter!

We had a very good Easter. The Easter bunny found Miley at our house and Grandma Cannon's house. I wanted to get Miley a real bunny, but I knew that wasn't going to be possible. I have no place for a real bunny, so the Easter bunny brought Miley a Fur Real bunny. It is so cute. You pet his/her back ( I think it is a she) and she moves her head and closes and shuts her eyes and makes noises. Miley also got three other little stuffed animals. She had to have two baskets because the Easter bunny couldn't put it all in one. Grandma Cannon spoiled her with books, a Disney Princess ball, a floating ring for when we go swimming, a really cool storage box and lots of candy for Mom and Dad.

We went to Mancos to eat Easter brunch. This was the 2nd year we have went. It was really yummy. Miley loved her bread roll....again.

Annual Harrison Easter Outing

Today was our annual Harrison Easter outing. We always go to Comb Wash. We were really excited to take Miley to her first Easter egg hunt. They always hide eggs for the kids. Miley had her jeans and her snickers on. She was ready to get dirty. When we woke up this morning, it was raining and the sun didn't look like it was going to come out. But we all went down to Comb anyway. When we got there it was kind of cold, but not too bad. Than it started raining, so we went to the truck and hung out there for a while.

After listening to music and drawing on the fogged over windows for awhile, we decieded it would probably be better to go back into town and eat at Grandma and Grandpa Harrison's house. We ate chicken, dutch oven potatoes, green salad, pasta salad, bread rolls, and cake and rice crispy treats. It was so yummy! We gave Miley a little bit of chicken, pototoes, pasta, and a bread roll. She loved the bread roll!

After eating lots of yummy food it was time for the Easter egg hunt. Miley had so much fun! She found all of her eggs and she love opening them up to see what was inside. Grandma Harrison got her a cute spring outfit and a Cinderella book.

We all had so much fun today! Miley loves to play with her Aunts and her cousins. It is so much fun when the family gets together.

Baby steps!

Last night Miley took 5 baby steps on her own without the help from her stride to ride lion. She did it twice. She is going to be walking before we know it.
Also, Miley has started saying mommamoma. It is so cute. It feels so good to hear her say that.

Poor Miley

What happens when you go to the doctor and your heathly? You get sick the next day. Poor Miley has the worst cold ever. She was up ALL NIGHT Saturday crying. It was so sad. She has had a cold before and it wasn't this bad. We ended up taking her to the doctor Sunday because we thought she might have an ear infection, but after two hours at the clinic, I still don't know if she has one or not. The doctor looked in her ear and though everything looked okay but Miley would act like she was in pain everytime she would look in her ear, so she would keep looking while we all held her down and she was crying uncontrollable. It was so sad. But they did end up giving her the bubble gum antibiotic medicine.

Thankfully my mom was staying with us for the weekend. She helped out so much! Thanks Mom, we love you!

Also, thank you Grandpa Harrison for giving Miley a blessing.

What do I do with this?

Miley has never really liked her pacifier. She probably used it for a month after she was born, but she didn't really care for it too much.

The other day she found one of her pacifiers and what did she do with it? Of course she put it in her mouth, but she wasn't too sure what to do with it. Everyonce in a while she will have it in her mouth while she is playing with her toys. I know some kids have there pacifier till there 3, but I think she looks too old for one just because she didn't really use one when she was a new born. But I do like to give it to her once in a while for a good laugh. I just hope I don't get her hooked on it.

9 month baby well check up

Today we took Miley for her 9 month baby well check up. She is heathly as can be. The doctor referred to her as a perfect baby. Yes, she is a perfect baby! We love her so much! She was lucky that she didn't have to get any shots this visit, but she was still scared. She was having fun in the waiting room, asking what everything was. But once we went into the room and had her weighted she wasn't too sure what was going on and cried a little.



At 9 months, 2 weeks and 3 days old Miley weights 20 lbs. and is 27 1/2 inches long.
